Where we got the name, "The Masses:"
"The Masses" was a ten-cent monthly first published in January 1911 in New York City. It advocated, in part, workman's compensation, safe working conditions, the rights of women to vote and receive birth control information, and the formation of a world peace organization.

Kelly Bowen - "The K-Bomb"
Bass
VP - Say It Records
Kelly is a San Diego native, who after several years of playing in a variety of bands, projects and gigs around town (including rock, blues, jazz and theatre gigs) with some major label interest that wasn't that interested, picked up and moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music. While living in Boston, she toured the Eastern Seaboard and Canada, and even Caracas, Venezuela. Finally, tired of shoveling snow, she returned to San Diego, beginning again the process of playing in a variety of projects, bands and gigs around town, courting yet again some major label interest that wasn't (thank God) all that interested ... all the while, searching for the one "right for her" project. One day the phone rang, and suddenly her focus became a certain independent band and its (presently) small independent record label...

Kelly also performs in various side projects and recordings and the like as they come her way. Kelly endorses Modulus Guitars.

Alicia Champion
Guitar / Keyboards / Vocals
Musical Director
Endorsed by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and winner of VH1's "You Rock With Melissa Etheridge," singer/songwriter/producer Alicia Champion has been making music professionally since age 15. At 23, Alicia has produced 4 full-length albums and 2 EP's under her independently owned record label, Champ Records, which she founded in June '99 with the release of her debut album, Stories of My Soul. Shortly after its release, Alicia took Champ Records to Boston, MA, where she attended the Berklee College of Music and released her sophomore record, Cold Wars ('02), which she produced alongside the debut album of RENT touring star, Kevin Wood. After graduating in May '03, Alicia returned to California where she joined forces with Say It Records and DLPM. Breaking new ground in 2004, the team of Champ Records and Say It Records made Indie Music history when they co-produced the first annual San Diego Indie Music Fest (SDIMF) - the USA's first and only exclusively independent music festival. Currently playing guitar for DLPM, Alicia is also finishing production on her upcoming release, Pillar, while co-producing the third DLPM release with Danielle LoPresti.

Angie began her musical career very early by keeping time on mom's tupperware! She studied drumming (yes, you can do that!) in college, focusing on jazz, classical and world percussion and earned a Master's degree. She keeps busy freelancing throughout Southern California, playing with various Indie artists, casual bands, theatre productions, as well as her own steel drum band, Caribe. Angie endorses Pork Pie Drums.

Megan Carchman
Guitar
Megan's love for music started with a hand made guitar carved out a tree branch with one string and a custom drum set of steel pans with saran wrap and tape for the heads. Thankfully, this farm girl from Virginia has come a long way to work with DLPM, Alicia Champion, Nels and many more. Megan likes Led Zepplin, indian food, lazy sundays, BBQ and hanging out with her family (dogs included if its not raining).
