"'Cause I believe in writing the Truth and singing myself to it..."

This music is not safe...it is...personal.

When was the last time you took shit from someone and responded with a thank you note that starts: "Dear Mr. Penis head" ?

You can't help being pulled in by this dynamic musician who's used her vast artistic arsenal to assault our biggest monsters: identity, autonomy, domestic abuse, homophobia, sexism, racism, political corruption...

She's Joan of Arc with a microphone, she's eating into the darkest meat of your soul, and she's using Britney Spears as a toothpick.

Outloud is the latest release from Danielle LoPresti and The Masses, marrying the no-holds-barred lyrical frankness the ‘Say It Girl’ became known for on Dear Mr. Penis head with the musical fearlessness of their sophmore release, 22 Mountains.

In 2001 Danielle Lo Presti founded Say It Records, an independent activist record and production company, out of a 7 year journey making her living writing and recording for The Nutty Professor, Sony Jazz, VH 1, Lifetime, Clear Channel, and a long list of Independent Film, TV and Recording projects in the mainstream music industry in Los Angeles. Say It Records has provided a platform from which Danielle has been able to defy the myth that popular music must avoid or "water down" socially conscious themes in order to be entertaining.

Utilizing the power of music and art to inspire and educate, Say It Records created Indie By Design - an ongoing multi-city showcase promoting awareness of the outstanding independent music, art and business that exist right here in our own communities. In 2004, Say It Records joined forces with fellow Indie, Champ Records. The two have brought their respective companies together to not only expand Say It Record's ongoing Indie By Design showcase series throughout California, but to create and produce two new events - Celebrate Women's Herstory Month and the revolutionary San Diego Indie Music Fest - the first of it's kind in all of California.. This power-house partnership has channeled a passion for writing, producing and performing into a mission that encompasses something much larger than themselves; the right of independent music, art, business and thought to not only exist, but to thrive in a supportive environment that values them for the still untold amount of good it can create.

Say It Records believes in using music as a mirror-a powerful means of reflecting back to us our current condition and potential for positive change. We endeavor to support honest expression of the human experience as a means of demonstrating our connection to one another, and in so doing, inspiring a collective respect and cooperation.

We Thank You for supporting Independent Music.
